De focus van de workshop op 26 september zal liggen op het somatische en creativiteit. We duiken het lichamelijke in en ontdekken hoe we moeitelozer en vrijer worden in bewegen. Vanuit dit luisteren vinden we creativiteit en flow in de dans met anderen.

a program of 6 weekends starting in october 2026 -
** How can you become more available to what is actually happening when you dance?
** How can you allow the dance that wants to emerge?
** How can you experience that there is more dance to be danced?
The CI program The Whole Dancer addresses these questions. Over six monthly weekends, we work across the full landscape of what Contact Improvisation asks of you – as an integrated practice that develops the dancer as a whole.

A weekend workshop with Robin Berkelmans & Cristhy Mattos on lifting and flying
Across this weekend we clarify the pathways into simple and complex lifts step by step. Lifting another body into the air, and letting yours be lifted to fly, is a skill you can learn. It rests on timing, organisation, conviction, momentum, listening, and understanding how support travels internally.
You are welcome to focus mainly on flying, mainly on basing, or both. Working both roles will deepen your understanding of the material.
People who feel at home with lifting and flying in Contact Improvisation or related partnering practices. That level matters because we study the principles underneath the lifts

What makes an advance contact dance - with Tom & Robin
With more than 40 years of combined experience in dancing and teaching we (Robin and Tom) each have found our path in the art of CI and teaching it.
For this special workshop we would like to create a space where people who have more experience and confidence in CI can move and learn and grow with each other.
This is an invitation for two masterclass workshops combining and interweaving into a two day program with jamming in between.

Discovering Your Own Dance
researching movement, trust and choice in CI
In this workshop, we will explore how a deeper understanding of the somatic and technical foundations of Contact Improvisation can support a more embodied, confident and personal way of moving.
We will explore what happens when we begin to let go of assumptions and convictions about how we should move. The creative side of dancing will be an important part of the work: allowing ourselves to be responsive is the foundation, out of which we move together
